Let’s talk numbers first. In 2023, the U.S. summer hail season broke a record with 540 hailstorms in June and 305 in July. Moreover, despite hail damages representing only 1.4% of the total claims, they accounted for a whopping 54% of solar’s loss claims. These average around $58.4 million each.
