I’m thrilled to share some recent developments in the solar industry that underline how solar companies are implementing innovative solutions to boost sustainable energy use. In line with the City of Campbell’s sustainability efforts, they have recently partnered with a leading solar company, Paired Power, for an exciting project. Let’s delve into the details.
The heart of this project is the installation of a unique solar parking canopy, aptly named PairTree, integrated with electric vehicle (EV) chargers. This dazzling spectacle of technology and ingenuity will generate electricity and power the city’s Ford F-150 Lightning Pro electric truck. Furthermore, the management software, EV Connect, by Paired Power will be responsible for delivering electricity to the Level 2 chargers attached to the canopy.
One might ask, “What powers such a remarkable solar canopy?” The answer lies in state-of-the-art bifacial solar panels and a 42.4 kWh energy storage system, making this solar array for home and public use a marvel of modern science. With each set of solar panels producing 4.6 kW units and maxing out a battery capacity at 42.4 kWh, the PairTree is monumental in providing between 75 to 230 miles of range.
The allure of the PairTree solar canopy doesn’t end with its superior energy capacity; one might be delighted to know that it’s ordinarily intended for remote locations like concert venues and military sites. This element of adaptability introduced by solar companies is indeed a testament to solar panels’ versatility for your home and various settings.
The cost of the installation of such a solar canopy? Well, the company points out that the solar canopy starts at around $26,000. However, if more features like energy storage and multiple chargers are needed, the price could go up to about $70,000. The average installation costs are around $5,000 per canopy.
