Recently, Muskegon County’s Resource Recovery Center forged a partnership with a prominent Michigan utility, Consumers Energy. This alliance aims to establish a jaw-dropping 250 MW solar facility within the county, in-line with the utility’s green objective of adding 8 GW of solar by 2040. The plan involves developing about 1,900 acres of land within the Center’s footprint, with the assistance of Moorland Township. By achieving this, they can offer numerous benefits to both the wastewater system users as well as to the Ravenna School District, overwhelming the solar companies in the area with its sheer potential.
